Field Of Gold (IRE)
gr c Kingman - Princesse De Lune (Shamardal)
John & Thady Gosden
Field of Gold made his juvenile debut at Doncaster at the back end of June, showing a little inexperience and ultimately placing third. His next run a fortnight later, saw him overpower a dozen rivals at Newmarket to break his maiden and earn TDN's 'Rising Star' tag.
He stepped up to Group company for his next run, readily winning the Group 3 Solario Stakes at Sandown, emulating his sire Kingman who achieved the same feat in 2013.
Field of Gold made a scintillating return to action in 2025 with a three and a half-length success in the Gr.3 Craven Stakes, propelling him to the head of the betting market for the 2000 Guineas. After being pinned four back on the rail for much of the race, he was threaded through a gap with a furlong to go and took off to leave Wimbledon Hawkeye and Aomori City trailing in his wake.
Field Of Gold emulated his sire Kingman, placing second in the Gr.1 2000 Guineas at Newmarket before going one better in the Gr.1 Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh three weeks later. He finished three and a quarter lengths ahead of fellow Juddmonte horse Cosmic Year and achieved a career-high Timeform Rating of 124p, the best rating for a three-year-old colt by that point in the season
Field Of Gold was a €530,000 purchase at Goffs November Foal Sale in 2022 where he was offered by his breeders Roundhill Stud. The colt is the latest foal out of a full sister to dual Group 2 winner and multiple Group 1-placed Puissance De Lune and Group 2 Middleton Stakes winner Queen Power. His dam, Princess De Lune is also from the family that has produced Group 1 winners Zabeel Prince, Rizeena and Grade 1-placed Summer Romance.
