Amusingly (GB)
b f No Nay Never - Joyeuse (Oasis Dream)
Francis-Henri Graffard
Amusingly made the perfect debut at Compiegne in June of her two-year-year old season, winning in comfortable fashion despite being drawn widest. Her turn of foot in the home straight saw her pull three lengths clear and earned her a JDG 'Rising Star' tag.
Her next race saw her come within a neck of scoring her first Group win in the Gr.2 Prix d'Aumale at ParisLongchamp where she broke well and raced mid-division, before taking the lead and setting sail for home with 200 metres to go. The eventual winner, Rogue Passion, overhauled
her just before the line.
Amusingly was supplemented for the Gr.1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere and dropped back in trip at ParisLongchamp in October. She had to overcome a wide draw but produced a scintillating performance to go from last to first, to become only the third of her sex to beat the colts in this race.
Francis-Henri Graffard commented: "The job of a trainer is to take responsibility for big decisions and I was hoping I didn't make a mistake. This victory is very sweet and she was a lovely winner."
Amusingly is the ninth foal and first Group 1 winner for the dual stakes-performer and multiple Group-placed Joyeuse. She is a full sister to Group 2 winner Array and half-sister to Gr.1 Turnbull Stakes and Gr.1 Doomben Cup runner-up Maximal and Gr.1 Coronation Stakes third Jubiloso.
Joyeuse is a half-sister to leading sire Frankel and his triple Group 1-winning full-brother Noble Mission.
